Poggenpohl Porsche kitchen Design receives an award
At the inauguration of the CeBIT computer fair in Hannover, the new kitchen for the man that Poggenpohl has created in collaboration with Porsche Design, the P‘7340 has received one of the most coveted design awards and one with the most history at a world level, the “iF Gold Award 2008”.

The new P’7340 kitchen, is based on racks of various sizes made from aluminum features that allow an individual design. Within the aluminum frames, the furniture can be positioned any way you like. This way, it will create a a modular system made up of frameworks and bodies that allow flexible use and which will include deliberately free areas in the design.

Its innovative and tecnicist aspect is acquired on the base on the typical material from the Porsche design, the aluminum. Not only the body of the furniture but the framework as well, shows off a very peculiar surface. Another material used is lacquered glass in variant satin or high gloss, which is used in the front or the shelves of the framework. In an interesting contrast to these materials, you can choose from two wooden variants for the design of the front: Drifwood, an intense pine brushed with a very natural look, as well as Dark Oak, a dark oak with a fine brush. .

One particularly stand out feature of the Poggenpohl and Porsche Design is that the cabinets can be opened without handles. A minimum impulse is all that is needed, and drawers open up with ease, thanks to the high-precision system. Another little push and they all auto retract, when closed, and automatically regain their initial position once they reach the last centimeter. The waiver of any handle unconditionally accentuates the pure aesthetics of the furniture.
The electric appliances and furniture of the Poggenpohl Porsche Design kitchen form an ensemble. The appliance manufacturer Miele & Cie. KG, Gütersloh, gives the kitchen, an exclusive of their products, from the oven to the electric vapor, to the dishwasher. The appliances are no longer handled by levers, but by sensor commands, featuring dialog screens with easy menus.

As well as the multifunction lighting systems, that integrate harmoniously into the overall concept, the kitchen also provides a high tech audio-video system.
