Wine and Decoration
Last weekend I devoted it to getting to know the enriching culture of wine. A culture that just like decoration comes in to us through our nose, mouths, our eyes…

Enjoying the sampling, taste, smell and savoring a glass of such a precious drink would have been the most normal and pleasurable act for a great wine taster. However, by honoring that great saying “to each his own”, I started to search for the relation between wine and decoration.
On the one hand I understand the necessity and importance of having a space destined for wine. In the absence of a specific place, the living room or kitchen are the most suitable for this. Innovation in the kitchen and living room furniture has joined in the list of possibilities, with really attractive wine maker module designs.

Open designs in which bottles are the ones that make up the attractive geometric, or closed, design in which case they may also have systems that regulate the temperature or the humidity.

But equally attractive but perhaps less functional are some accessories that can be placed on any surface that can hold 6 or 7 bottles.

Some prestigious brand, such as the Italian Alessi, will place a note of design in your cellar, with their well known decorated corkscrews.

On the other hand I’ve been imagining what a wine connoisseurs house would look like. Each house must have a fingerprint of the personality of who lives there. Of course color is the one aspect that will transit to a greater extent the relationship with oenology, but also some materials will be key players in the wine trend.

The cork which covers the bottles or the wood oak, widely used for the development of the barrels in which wine is stored, will be transferred to the home in different versions.
The cork is a warm material, flexible, malleable, cushioning…and that is why it will allow many decorative solutions. it can be used to cover a wall, to upholster a column, the floor of a room…
Oak wood is widely used in homes, for its color, its resistance, durability..and especially because of its appearance of quality.

The color that should not be missed in this house is the color of wine. A bright, deep and intense color..I will not catalogue it as a cold nor warm color, because much depends on the decoration that accompanies it, but if I dare say the cold temperature that runs through our bodies inside of a cellar, is not possible, nor advisable, for a home, a home with a cold decoration will help promote the wine spirit.

If we also add an artistic still life on a wall, the taste of a good wine will be unmistakable.
Anyone who devotes their life to wine, must be a patient person, judging by the long period of time that the wine should rest in a cellar until it is considered ready. Our home as well as manifesting our personality should also represent our life, that is why we should decorate slowly, without haste.

And relax, a good decoration, like a fine wine, improves with age.
