Marine inspiration
Whoever has a friend also has a treasure, or so they say, but there are many people who think that part of those treasures can also be found under the sea. The luxurious ships that travel the seas have been responsible for leaving us surprises hidden under its waters.. but the fact is that there is no abundance of friends, we never know where the treasures lie and there are very few occasions where we get to navigate.

But if we are easily satisfied, we have an alternative solution, we can transform our summer home into a yacht. It all depends on the decoration we use to dress up the place. Converting the terrace into a comfortable deck or the bedroom in to a cozy cabin will be our goal.
The identifying mark will be key pieces, always present in the interior decoration of any ship, which we must now move to our house.

We will replace traditional windows by those traditional nautical oval windows surrounding the interior of a boat. In our case, we will have to add curtains or specific blinds. Even though in ships these windows are not adorned, in the interior of any home, it is essential to be able to let light in or not. They will also become the sails that cut the wind in out homes.

The main material for manufacturing boats is wood, for its many decorative possibilities, and because it is a material well suited for this use. That wood traditionally used to manufacturing ships, is one of the leading materials for manufacturing kitchens.

But wood is present almost everywhere. Of course on the floor, but if we move into the cabins, we also find it dressing the walls and ceilings, giving it a touch of luxury.

Color is also key. White, navy blue and red should be present almost everywhere. Walls, accessories, textiles…stripes are the most common print in a marine decoration.

But we can achieve stunning contrasts of light and shadows if we also use it on the walls. Whites and blues in the bedroom and the more intense reds and prints in the day areas.

Gold plays a key role. Relegated to small details in modern decoration, in marine art present everywhere, lamps, handles, coat racks, frames…and especially on decorative objects with maritime motifs.

Furniture takes on special prominence, leaving the pure and straight lines for another occasion. Everything becomes round, twisted and overloaded. Modular sofas, form curves that invite a conversation and a gathering at the deck.

…And your boat is called freedom…
