Flashes of light
Gold signifies: Elegance, glamor, luxury, class, ostentation, sophistication, power, triumph…
Silver transmits: Style, modernity, functionality, fashion, design, sobriety…

…Or could it be the other way around?…
I could think of endless adjectives to add to the aesthetic and vital sensations that so many precious metals transmit, so many! That would eventually would put one in the antipodes of the other. But I begin to have my doubts, because I don’t find many differences of sensation.

Former lovers without reconciliation in sight, gold and silver were the ones who marked the difference of classes at certain times in history, especially among some people and their imitators. The winner of the silver medal is challenged to achieve the gold at the next competition.

Gold corresponds to the decorative work of the noble classes. It is born from the regal decoration of the XVI century, reaching its maximum splendor in the eighteenth century, and its use dies with the addition of a new member to our families; mortgage. Nowadays present in all classes of family, which has made us give a twist to creativity to achieve better results with fewer resources.

At this moment gold remains high, and we look for the appearance of it through other methods. Imagination takes control of our mind and silver achieves to topple its presence even in the most exclusive decoration..arriving at the point of disparaging any golden crack present in our homes. “The search for the chrome peephole”, could well be the tittle of a film, but it is all in the day by day of certain obsessed people that take this trend to the extreme.

The difference between the gold and silver feel has increased with the passage of time to put both decorative flows in the head and tails of the same coin. And because there is no greater truth that opposites attract, reconciliation has taken place. And because we all have been forced reconciliation players once in our lives, I wont have to stop an explain what happens. The results are clear to see.

Gold and silver have been plunged into a tremendous hug. The windows of the most prestigious decorating shops shine with light itself, and the light invades our homes making us sense a festive perfume of fireworks in the atmosphere. The mixtures, the recovery of vintage pieces and retro styles have acted as partners in this union.

And as fruit of any union , bronze peeks out timidly in the gift shops. Candelabras, vases and dishes are the prelude to what is to come. For now, until bronze is confirmed an innovation, we will use red as a substitute.
The classicism and the vanguard now merge in pieces of eclectic appearance transmitting mixed feelings. The ostentation of gold and the sobriety of silver now shake hands and walk their love in the most exquisite environments of decoration.
Oh!! Reconciliations….
