Rugs are an indispensable element in the decoration of our home. They help connect the elements of our environment, such as the dining room table and chairs, or the sofa with the coffee table, protecting the floor from soiled footprints, scratches and dents, they make walking barefoot a bit more pleasant and the warmth they bring home is indisputable.
The variety of manufacturing materials is steadily growing, and therefore the choices according to our taste and style are also increased. The following is a list of the most common rug manufactured materials.
Wool
This is the primary carpet manufactured material, and on the basis of it quality comparisons are made. It is a material that accepts any color dye, which allows you to place them in spaces of any style. It is a durable material that is easy to clean.

Acrylic
It is the most similar to wool, but generally cheaper. It is specially used in commercial spaces because it is resistance to dirt, mildew, and moths. It is easy to clean, manufactured in a multitude of colors and when it is exposed to sunlight resists fading more than other textures.

Cotton
It is a fresh material, heat resistant, washable, moth resistant and will not accumulate static electricity. It is mainly used for natural environments, child’s rooms..

Leather
It is the cured animal leather, that makes it soft and flexible, allowing carpet manufacturing as well as other decorative items such as cushions. Bamboo

Jute
Jute is a natural fiber from India. It is characterized by its gentleness, precisely because it is recommended for walking on it bare feet.

Cleaning
- Although wool rugs can take any type of cleaning, be careful with bleach and whiteners because they can damage the wool. It is preferable to use neutral detergents.
- Cotton rugs are considered washable, but if the drying occurs slowly, the rug could shrink.
- Sisal and jute rugs have characteristics similar to those of cotton. They can be cleaned with all existing methods, but vacuuming or steam cleaning is recommended . In the latter case quick drying is advisable, because moisture many damage the fibers.
