Paintings are the artistic element in which we could give that special decoration touch to any space. Placing them seems like an easy task, but it must be done according to certain criteria, for the result does not give to a studied decoration.

The main ornaments of a home such as placement of wall paintings have been in the head of the bed and the sofa wall, and maybe these are two places where we must focus all our attention, but any piece of art has a place in any room and wall.

Here are some tips for optimal results:

TIP Nº 1: Occupy 2 /3

We should visually calculate the distance between the furniture over which we will place the artwork and the ceiling, and leave 2/3 of this space for the placement of paintings, leaving an approximate distance of 20 cm from the bed frame or sofa.

TIP Nº 2: Not too high

Hanging a painting with an excessive separation can give the feeling of disconnection between itself and the piece to which it is attached.

TIP Nº 3: At the height of sight

A painting is considered to be at the height of sight when it is placed at a distance of 150 cm from the floor, this criterion will be followed particularly for large paintings, and especially for painting whose visualization is made from a sitting position such as reading, and kitchen bar areas…

TIP Nº 4: visual impact

Furniture of large dimensions require paintings of great dimensions to obtain a harmonious balance between them. In these cases, a decorative solution is to place two or three paintings, in a way that will make a visual impact, or a single painting that will stand out for its colors, the size of the canvas and the thickness of the frame.

TIP Nº 5: In the right measure

When the piece of art to be placed is a triptych (a painting whose design is divided into three different paintings), we must place special attention to the separation distance that we place between them, they must be sufficiently separated so that it is perfectly visible that it is three different bases, but sufficiently close, so that we could see the painting in one look. The distance should not be less than 5 cm or greater than 8 cm.
