Lounge Chair & Ottoman
Charles and Ray Eames in 1950s designed the Lounge Chair & Ottoman as a modern interpretation of the traditional English club armchair.
Featuring black leather cushions, a dark palisander veneer and black painted aluminium, this classic version of the Lounge Chair went on to become an icon of contemporary style.
Now in collaboration with the Eames Office and Hella Jongerius, Vitra presents a lighter, brighter reinterpretation of that 20th-century classic.
The upholstery is off-white leather framed by varnished walnut veneer shells and set off by a polished aluminium base.
The new version both reinterprets the Lounge Chair’s classic look and reasserts its timeless status as a centrepiece of modern interiors.
